Salt Lake Temple at Christmas Time

There is no way that a person can go photograph the Christmas lights at Temple Square without turning around and taking a shot of the temple.

City Creek Pool

Soon City Creek will be open.  Right now you can only get back into it a few hundred feet.  This is a 3 shot HDR of the reflecting pool that is between Deseret Book and the Blue Lemon.  (By the way, the Blue Lemon is a pretty good place to eat).  I'm looking forward to seeing the grand opening in March.

Conference Center at Christmas

Last week I took the family to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Orchestra at Temple Square, and Bells at Temple Square record their Christmas Day Broadcast.  WOW!  It was incredible.   Standing ovation. The conference center was decorated like a castle.  It was amazing.  This is a hand held shot from the back of the conference center.  They didn't care if I took pictures, but I'm sure the grandpas in the black suits would have descended on me if I would have tried to set up a tripod.  I would have really liked to HDR this shot.

Conference Center Lights

Here is the second shot in my annual Temple Square Christmas Lights series.  This is a 3 shot (+/-2) HDR  of the LDS Conference Center.  I'm standing in front of the old Tabernacle.

Red Lights at the Temple

Two years ago I tried to capture this picture.  Check out my earlier blog. ( Dec 10 Picture of Red Lights at the Temple )  I tried again this last week when we went to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights.  I'm not sure if I did any better.  What do you think?  Which one is better?

Merry X-Moose

Merry X-Moose.  This photo was taken at the Layton City park.  They have a beautiful light display.

Annual Gingerbread "House"

Every year for the past 26 years our family has created a gingerbread "house".  Truthfully it has been many years since we have built a house.  Each year it is a more elaborate creation.  This year the boys selected to do a park, bridge, river and gazebo.  Take a look.
